Meet our Rector, the Rev. Lisa Graves.
The Rev. Lisa Graves is a creative preacher and compassionate pastor. Her passions are worship and formation. She earned her Masters Degree in Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA, serving churches in VA before being called to the position as fourth Rector at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Palatine. Lisa earned her undergraduate degree from Stephens College and enjoyed a career in advertising and marketing before entering ministry.
Lisa serves as Vice Chairperson for ECCNU, the Episcopal Campus Ministry at Northwestern University in Evanston. She has worked in hospice, palliative care chaplaincy and family and childrens ministry in addition to serving on variouis community and faith-based boards. Lisa is married to the Rev. Chip Graves, and mother to two daughters, Isabella and Katarina. The family is cared for by two spoiled labrador Retrievers, Tyler and Kipper. Lisa's hobbies are reading, writing and live comedy. Cindy ministers to our parish by playing the organ, flute and keyboard as well as directing our Adult Choir. Choir members are accepted at any time during the year, practices are usually once a week. Come be a part of the joyous music of St. Philip's! Meet Maureen Heinen, our parish secretary.
Maureen is the heart of St. Philip's, keeping our office and church running smoothly and sharing her joy and compassion with all who call or stop by our parish office. Our office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until noon. We look forward to seeing you.
