Dear parish family,
With winter just about here, I am remembering that last season, a few of our members chose not to attend Sunday or Tuesday services because they don’t like driving in winter. I fully understand this and will always support any parishioner’s decision to stay home if their safety is at stake. We love you too much to want you taking risks!
Having said that, please know that St. Philip’s will make every effort to find a volunteer to drive you to most services and other activities. You don’t have to be cooped up and kept away from the altar just because Old Man Winter is cranky. (Of course, if it’s heavy snow or ice on a Sunday morning, maybe ALL of us should stay home.) But I am primarily thinking of days when the roads are clear.
If you believe you might need a ride to and from services or some other St. Philip’s event, please call the office and let us know. You can also check the signup sheet for our “Ride by Your Side” ministry to see who’s available to drive and call them directly. There are good reasons to miss church, but “I don’t want to be a bother” is NOT one of them. You are NOT a bother — you are a blessing and your family at St. Philip’s wants to be a blessing to you, too!
Stay warm and keep loving Jesus,
