Special Notice

Dear family of faith,

At the strong urging of Bishop Jeff Lee, I am canceling all services at St. Philip’s until further notice. It makes me sad to do so. Some may feel the bishop’s decision is an overreaction. But please know this:

If this is an overreaction, it is one deeply rooted in love for you. Canceling even one service is definitely not in the communal, demographic, or financial interest of the diocese or parish. But we love our seniors and if even one were to become gravely ill as a result of Covid-19, we would all be devastated. Hopefully, this shall pass quickly.

In the meantime, please know that I will continue to work. Rev. Dan and I will be phoning each of you on a very regular basis to visit, listen and pray. I encourage you to call and email one another more than you usually do. We will keep community, love, and hope alive at St. Philip’s. If there are any needs among you we will do our best to meet them.

Praying for you,

Fr. Jim

Seek . . . a deeper knowledge of Jesus Christ
Share . . . the love and compassion of Christ
Serve . . . others with Open Hearts
Shine . . . with the light of Christ, illuminating the world

People at St. Philip's Episcopal Church find joy in the word of God. We gather in community to hear God's word proclaimed, to pray for ourselves, for our forgiveness and for the needs of God's people. We gather at the Lord's table to share a communion meal and then we leave, ready to begin our service in Christ's name in the way we live our lives, treat our loved ones, talk to our coworkers and respond to the world. You will fit right in.
